NURSERY TIMES

Morning - 8.45 a.m.-11.15 a.m.
Afternoon - 12.45 p.m.-3.15 p.m

Nursery education is about challenging each child and encouraging them to develop into motivated learners and thinkers full of curiosity about the world around them.

The Nursery curriculum includes planned activities, which lead to the development of the child. These aspects do not develop in isolation; one is reinforced by the other.

Play is central to our Nursery curriculum. Children develop an learn through play. Learning is built on existing knowledge and experience developed at home.

Just as in school, we have a curriculum called a “Curriculum Framework for Children 3-5”. This enables us to plan learning
experiences and activities that promote children’s development and learning in:

* Emotional, Personal and Social Development
* Communication and Language
* Knowledge and Understanding of the world
* Expressive and Aesthetic Development
* Physical Development and Movement

As with school, the Nursery curriculum will be reviewed in line with Curriculum for Excellence.
