The broad aims of our school are to provide a safe, secure, friendly and stimulating environment in which children progress through school. They are helped to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and understanding across a broad spectrum. Planning for all areas of the curriculum is based on 5-14 Guidelines.
The curricular areas are as follows:
* Mathematics * English language * Environmental studies: Science, Technology and Social Subjects * Health education and Personal and Social Education * ICT skills programme and cross-curricular work * Expressive arts: Music, Drama, P.E. and Art * Religious and Moral Education * Enterprise and Citizenship Education
The school fared very well indeed in the HMIe report carried out by Inspectors in June 2002. It was noted that
“……….The school’s ethos was very good, with a supportive happy atmosphere throughout. Staff worked well as a team and morale was high. The school recognised and praised pupil’s achievements and teachers made effective use of praise to promote good behaviour.” (Quote from school’s HMIE report)
